| Description | Six best plants taken from 10 strong seedlings that were germinated under two 30W compact flos. Wegging under 3 fluorescent shop lights, two bulbs per ballast (4 Gro-Lux Aquarium bulbs and 2 Sunsticks). Used fish poop and superthrive in small quantities for fertilizer. I hoped for two or three females from the six for a small personal harvest. Switched to 400W HPS for flower, removed two males. Now two weeks into 12/12, three females and one still undetermined. This is how they look now that all the pruning is done. It took about five days to trim the smaller bud sites from the plants. Didn't want to shock them all at once. I cloned two of the plants from the cuttings, the rest were taken for the benefit of the large branches. |

I manipulated the previous picture using Photoshop to show the gaps within the canopy. Even though the view goes through all four plants, you can see some avenues for light to filter down. I trimmed the smaller branches, but I left the "crotch" buds alone for the most part. |

| Light Temperature |
This picture shows you just how big a difference there is between cool fluorescent and warm fluorescent lights. I have two shop lights, one that has two Sunstick bulbs, the other has two Gro-Lux Aquarium bulbs. Both types are 40W. I noticed that the floor was more red in one slice of shadow, so I placed my drawing pad outside the studio to exaggerate the difference. This difference is what makes some bulbs good for veg and others for flower. |
