Pot after drilling holes |
Just use a drill and drill several holes as close to the bottom as possible. |

These pots don't have enough dra |
The more drainage the better so we will drill some holes.Seedlings are very susceptable to root damage if submitted to very wet conditions. |

4" pots |
You can start seeds 2 ways:You can drop germinated seed in the pot you will be growing in or start them in smaller pots.I'm using 4" pots because covering 16 3 gal pots with floresents is alot of fixtures to get full coverage. This way i can fit all them under 2 4 ft fixtures. They will be ok in these pots for up to 3 weeks. |

step 5:Add ingredients |
Now dump your medium in the rubbermade container and add the following. 2 cups compost 2 tbsp dolomite lime 1/2 cup worm castings 1/4 bat guano 1/4 cup seabird guano 1/2 cup bone meal 1/2 cup blood meal Mix it all up and put back in your pot.You can vary these ingredients upon what you have.Plus add 10-20% perlite.20% in a 3 gal container is 2.4 quarts. THAT'S IT SIT BACK AND WATCH EM GROW!

Step 4:Measure medium |
Get 3 gal pots.I got 18 from a nursery for $3.00.Soil medium should be pro-mix,Fertalome, or anything mainly Sphagnum moss and perlite.Remember It does not contain many nutrients so you will be adding them.IF YOU ARE GOING TO GROW TOTALLY ORGANIC DO NOT GET A POTTING SOIL WITH MICRO NUTRIENTS,YOU ARE DEFEATING THE PURPOSE.SOIL YOU WILL BE USING IS CALLED SOIL MEDIUM. Get a large rubbermaid container and put you pot in there and fill the pot, lightly packing down as you go. Your bag should say how many quarts it will fill. For a 3 gal pot it will take 12 quarts of soil.My 16 pots used a total of 3 50 quart bags.....150 quarts of medium. |

Update on seedling growth |
it's been 2 days and you can see how fast they grow.In 4 days we will put them in soil.At this stage you want to make sure the temperature does not drop below 70 degrees...the warmer the better but not too hot.Keep the pots moist but not soaking wet. |

Step 3-Move seedlings to florese |
After 48 hrs the seedlings have sprouted and need to be moved under a flor.light for one week.Keep the light within 2 inches OR THE SEEDLINGS WILL STRETCH AND FALL OVER AND MAYBE DIE.They are started under floresents because a MH/HPS is too powerful at this stage.I'd also like to add we had 100% germination.
WARNING I HAVE FOUND JIFFY POTS RETAIN ALOT OF WATER. BESURE NOT TO WATER UNTIL THE POTS ARE ALMOST DRY. WET ROOTS WILL LEAD TO ROOT ROT AND/OR DAMPING OFF AND KILL YOUR PLANTS. |
