: you can't tell by the seed but there is a theory on how you can determine sex by how the seedling sprouts from the shell case. Sprout the seeds in a napkin, and look at how they shoot out, if its from the side of the seed case, you have a male, and if it's from the end it's a female. this however is only a theory, but I've had sucess with it.

I dunno, why you can't tell black seeds are alwayways the female seeds. The lighter seeds are the males.
