Went to their concert last night in Mexico City.....it was AWESOME...never ate so much exctasy in my life. half the concert looked like a strobe light. ever seen them in concert?
They rocked the UK! Sure have, seen them live in the UK at a summer festival ( T in the park)they headlined(it was a weekender festival)the saturday night and were BLAZED it man They probably one of only a few american bands im into these days,GREAT BAND
Before Californication I love...but after that (to me of course) they started sounding like all the other shitty rock bands that are coming out in the US
Few were good, Nickelback was "alright". Back in 90's rock bands/rap like Limp Bizkit and Papa Roach were good, then went right back downhill. Ie: Limp Bizket - Faith, Papa Roach - Last Resort, Saliva - BOOM
I saw them a few years back. Snoop opened for them. It was an outdoor venue. Excellent show. I recently filled in my missing chili peppers albums with their early stuff. I prefer their post mother's milk albums. Californication is a masterpiece.
yeah, why all the USA bands doin the same shit? Yeah my sentiments exactly...where are all the american classic bands?Shit last world class band was The Ramones and were they not born in the UK?All i know is UK music is and always will be the bomb when it comes to originality, style and of course rockin tunes....Pity none of y'all ever got OASIS,they are legends before their time but the americans just never got to grips with their 'attitude' and they never really kicked it big in america then friggin coldplay come and storm the american charts!!!:5masked: Dont get me wrong coldplay are aiiight,in fact my mate had a coldplay song at his funeral last year which touched me but apart from that in the words of liam gallacher.."they do bed wetters music"Peace
I agree that most revolutionary bands have always (and still do) come from the UK and Europe. American pop has always been about which bands the record companies spoon feed us. It's all about marketing. I don't see that changing anytime soon with our country becoming more and more plastic. Luckily, with the internet we are free to discover music from around the globe.
Music...eclectic mix.. I gotta love for a lil of all types of music,i love some of the american masters like Bod Dylan,Sinatra,Elvis,Jimi Hendrix,Johnny Cash,Neil Diamond,The Doors,The Ramones and many other eclectic mixes. I dig ..or i did used to really dig the rap scene, its the beats that interested me along with the word play, especially rappers who rap in syllables like eminem(he got more skills than he gets props for)but im old skool... i grew up on dr.dre and snoop and the whole death row scene, can honestly say i never got into the east coast side of it although Nas is defo a great rapper, better than jiggaman 'jay-z' IMO but the west coast has it locked down when it comes to the style and the beats,im digging bishop lamont just now,he is dr.dre's new prodegy/apprentice from the CPT. I got all the original 2pac and NWA shit, even some obscure dre beats,i like the idea of producing beats...i can write good rhyme but it dont sound right coming from a scottish accent But raps being turned into a whore house of a money making machine, good luck to the guys who eating well cos they starved long enough but all these ppl be rapping bout now is diamond grills in they teeth and asll their bitches and cars, yada yada.... i like a bit of substance to my beats ya know?Apart from that im an old skool UK music lover... The Who,Pink Floyd,Led Zepplin,Eric Clapton&Cream,The Kinks,The Small Faces,The Jam.... all the mod music!Like a bit of bowie and the beatles but no body ever kicked it like the rolling stones!Favourite scottish bandRIMAL SCREAM(Amazing),travis and franz ferdinand aint my cup of tea but if y'all get the chance to hear the arctic monkeys they real good, same goes for kaiser chiefs.Oh i do like an american band called The Strokes:thumbsup:
Never got oasis!? I and my friends LOVE oasis (despite their sometimes obviouse "We are as good as the beatles" attitude....hee
ya red hot chili peppers are the shit and californication was a masterpiece. if any of you guys are interested in rap or underground hip-hop you should check out atmosphere, they are from minnesota and really blew up the underground scene and created a whole culture called rhymesayers. slug-the lead singer for atmosphere is a lyrical genius. if you haven't heard them you need 2 check them out! believe me..later. nugz
Another great underground hiphop type band: Granola Funk Express: http://www.granolafunk.com/v33/sounds.htm better shit on their myspace though for anyone who uses that...
I hate Rap. Drives me crazy. Went to one rap show and it was just a bunch of people running around the stage. The only world I could understand was yah yah. I never heard the word yah said so many times.
Oasis Rock!! Yeah OASIS have rocked a few gigs in USA...problem is they kept cancelling tour dates at a minutes notice and the american 'general' public thought they were just up their own arse type ignorant guys with bad attitudes but they are great...LIVE FOREVER is an all time clasic as is WONDERWALL(about the beatles) and all of their 1st album(definetly maybe) ...i got ALL their cd's,seen them live and they rocked the house man Their new stuff keeps getting better now they replaced the original line up with better musicians.OASIS=ROCK N' ROLL STARS
Just like any other genre, I hate the COMMERCIAL version of it...there are people (Black, white, asian...whatever) That can RAP whithout all the bull crap capping asses....GFE is all about enlightenment, peace, and weed.....AND they actually use instruments!
Ya i like it all but for the peppers i would have to agree with the statment of the music being better prior to californication. Don't know why but i perfer the more in your face style of the earlier stuff like red hot minute. as more Oasis, great band but man can those brothers ever sober up long enough to stop fighting with each other!
