I'm getting a bunch of amber trichs on her, one leaf I looked at was like 90% amber and it was close to the top of the bud. They sure don't look ready, the pistils are about 25% turned... 8wks 001.jpg

They can't be ready... I want the pistils to die so them calyx's swell!!

I'm just hoping something isn't wrong and the trichomes are maturing prematurely. I have no idea lol.

It's kinda hard to say, but those close-ups that show trichomes look like the trichs are all cloudy, no amber, but if you say they are I'm not gonna argue with you.

I grew WW one time and it finished after 9 weeks and got super frosty by the end.

i have like 3 years worth of ww experience since it was my 1st breeder strain and i know sometimes when your using a 30x scope with a hps in the backround the clear and cloudy trikes can take on an amber color, try taking them out of the room and looking at them.

It does seem weird that you have 90% amber trichs...but you say that's just at the bud tips? Being closest to the light, and first to form, I expect those tips would get amber first. Otherwise, I agree it doesnt look ready...plus, WW needs nine weeks and 10 is better. Kiss em for me...I do love me some WW. Got three in Solo cups...one is about five inches, one is about two, the other got stunted somehow and is only now starting to get a little growth. I'd bet dollars to do-nuts that five inch one will be a male. Seems the BigUns always are! That's ok, tho...if I get one male I will collect the pollen and cross it with a female Juicy Fruit...and call it JUICY WIDOW. If all three are females, WTF, I'll get me some Juicy Fruit pollen and dose a WW fem. This will be my first attempt at crossing strains...but I figure, between those two as parents, no way can I go wrong. If I could get the taste of the JF PLUS the potency of the WW, well...that would be the equiv of winning the Weed Lotto.

Thanks for all the replies. It's not 90% amber all over that was just one particular leaf.. I'm not getting a color from the light (This is a CFL grow btw) I moved it into different types of lights to make sure and it's definitely turning.. I'll be letting her go longer for sure. Just thought the amber should be coming later on.. My camera sucks, even on macro it doesn't want to focus.. I circled some amber trichs in this pic.

I just finished a WW grow. 4 seedlings and they all finished up within 9 1/2 weeks, although I had one early ripener that finished in 8 weeks.

Looking at your pics I would say they definitely need at least a week or so before they will be done. Don't worry about the pistil color. You can't accurately judge whether or not a plant is fully ripe by how many pistils have changed color. The only accurate way is to go off of the trichome color. If you have 50% orange pistils and you look at the Trichomes and they are ready then you chop.

From looking at your pics I would say that you are only at about 5% clear 90% cloudy 5% amber. I see the ones you circled but they are old trichomes that formed up when that leaf was young and small. See how they are all amber at the end of the leaf tips? Those are older trichomes so they are the first to mature. You need to go off of the overall trichome maturation especially focusing on the trichomes that are on the calyxes rather than on the leaves. Leaves get trimmed off the buds get smoked. Once you see the trichomes on the calyxes start turning orange then you know that the time is very near. I would think that you will start seeing more amber trichomes in about a week. My WW averaged 9 weeks to full maturity.

I always snip a very sm. piece and view it here at the desk.

Even if you chop WW early, you'll be happy.

I'm not going to harvest her yet. I still have to flush it so I will wait at least 2 weeks. Maybe Labor Day weekend if it's looking right.

I'm not sure which I want, amber or cloudy. I have high anxiety and sometimes I get a buzz from weed that makes me really nervous, not paranoid, just real nervous. I'm thinking I probably want more of a couch-lock than a head buzz.. I dunno.
